In July 16, 2013, Major League Baseball’s brightest stars are going to shine down at the New York Mets home. The Citi Field stadium in Queens, New York City will host the 84th MLB All-Star Game! This will be the first time the Mets have hosted an All-Star Game since 1964.
This event is referred to by many as the “Midsummer Classic”; because generally it is the halfway point of the MLB season.
The All-Star Game is held each July – the venue is chosen by MLB and traditionally alternates between the two leagues every year. The home team is the league in which the host franchise plays its games. The two managers are traditionally the managers of the previous season’s two World Series teams.
